A
Help or a Leader?
| |
"Help me please Lord!"
"God I need your help!"
"Where is help when I really need it?"
"God where are you?"
"I need you Lord!"

How many times a day, a week or a month do we
utter these very words? How many times do we ask God to help
us in some way without thinking or by habit?
Not that it's a bad thing because the Bible
plainly speaks of God as a "very present help" and the psalmist
wrote, in Psalms 127:1-2, "I will lift Up mine eyes unto the
hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the
Lord which made Heaven and earth". Jesus also said if we ask
anything in His name that God would hear and answer our prayers.
So we should never be afraid to ask for His help or forgiveness
because He is ready to incline His ear toward us. God should
always be our closest friend and guide. But there is one thing
God should be before we relegate Him to just being a helper.
He needs to be our leader….
Now if God is to be our leader we must be willing
to follow Him in Whatever He would have us to do or allow
to be done in our lives. If we follow Him, then as followers
we should know our leader well enough to trust Him completely.
We should also have the knowledge of Him well enough to know
that He will always be there to help us when we need it. God
doesn't just take over our lives and run them as He sees fit.
He wants us to willingly give Him control so that He can help
us gain perception of everything that we face. Then, and only
then can He become our leader because we allow Him leadership
of our lives. He will never lead us where we should not go.
Psalms 23 states "He leads me beside still waters, He restoreth
my soul" Now, do you really think He will restore our souls
if we are not willing to be led by the only true leader we
can ever know? We have to settle in our minds and souls to
allow Him to lead us thru situations, good and bad, then we
will really know what a true help He can be. Some situations
call for a help and some for a leader. So what is it you really
need? A help or a leader? Only God can be both and He can
do it "right well".
